美罗鸡仔饼的由来
相传,鸡仔饼已有一百多年历史,其时,在广州河南(即现在的海珠区)王家祠附近,有一名叫小凤的婢女,在主人家只能吃残羹剩饭。为了温饱,当有多出的剩菜饭时,她便会全部收集起来,加入一些面粉,梅菜汁,熬干后压成餅块。然后交给在成珠餅家当点心师傅的叔父代为烘干,以备充饥之用。后来此餅送人品尝时,大受赞赏,并名之为“小风餅”。从此,小凤餅名声远扬,而成珠餅家也大发横财。因“小凤”在广州俗称“鸡仔”,于是,小凤餅便改名为鸡仔饼,也是广州有名的特产。
后来“鸡仔饼”流传到马来西亚霹雳州美罗,再经过多次改良之后,及考虑到马来同胞也可以品尝我们华族的美食,樂記厚装鸡仔饼绝无添加任何猪油成份,再添加秘制材料,香脆可口,唇齿留香的口感更胜原来传统的那一款。

萨其马的由来
关于萨其马名字的由来,有多种传说,其中有两个版本比较典型。“版本一”充满了民族情绪。相传清代广州某将军姓萨,他特别喜欢骑马打猎。每次打猎归来都要吃点心,而且要求不能重样。一次,背负沉重创新压力的厨子,不小心将蘸了鸡蛋清的点心炸碎了。可是此时,将军已经在催着上点心,他只好端了上去。原以为会被责罚,不料将军吃了赞不绝口,还问这种点心叫什么名字?厨子随口说“杀骑马”,后来这道点心的名字被写成文字,便成了“萨其马”。
后来“萨其马”流传到马来西亚霹雳州怡保,再经过多次改良之后, 口感松酥绵软,香甜可口。樂記餅家出产的全蛋萨奇马更是使用新鲜鸡蛋加上麦芽和黑糖,也成为了怡保十大手信之一。
